CHARLIE Telfer says he is keen to extend his stay with Morton next season — and aims to one day play abroad again.

The midfielder joined the Ton at the start of the season from Dutch side Almere City after three

years at Dundee United.

The ex-Rangers youth product has previously spoken about wanting to play outside of Scotland again after his stint in the Netherlands last term.

But for now the 23-year-old wants to remain in his native country, and would like to do that with Morton if he’s given the opportunity.

He told the Tele: “I’m sure I would stay on if I get the option to do that.

“It’s been frustrating in parts but on the whole I’ve really enjoyed it here.

“But you have to wait and see what happens, nothing has been spoken about at the club yet.

“I’m just trying to focus on our games at the moment, hopefully we can make the play-offs and we have something to play for.

“I would love to go abroad and do it again and give it a proper go at some point, as I didn’t really get a chance to do that because of injuries.

“That would be an aim for the future, but my aim currently is firmly on staying in Scotland and playing here and trying to enjoy it as much as I can."
