MORTON captain Jim McAlister has agreed a new deal to remain at the club.
The midfielder signed on today for another 12 months following talks with manager David Hopkin.
The 33-year-old returned to the club last summer after leaving in 2010 and going on to have stints with Hamilton, Dundee and Blackpool.
He triggered an extension clause after meeting the stipulated number of appearances in his contract last season, and has now thrashed the terms out with the club.
It means the only out-of-contract player whose future is still to be settled is Michael Tidser, amid continued interest from other clubs in the midfielder.
McAlister told club website www.gmfc.net: “I’m pleased to get it all completed and to be staying with Morton for another season.
“The chats I’ve had with the manager have been really positive.
"He knows how to be successful in this league on a tight budget at Livingston, so hopefully he can bring that to Cappielow and we can be successful.”
