BOB McHugh has revealed he snubbed several offers from other clubs because he believes Morton is the ‘right fit’ for him.
The 27-year-old is looking forward to his third season at Cappielow after putting pen to paper last week for another year at Ton.
Last season the ex-Motherwell striker fired in 10 goals and was Morton’s top scorer, tying his previous best which he achieved at Falkirk several seasons ago.
His form didn’t go unnoticed by other clubs but the forward says the chance of a ‘fresh start’ under Ton boss David Hopkin at Cappielow is something he couldn’t turn down.
He told the Tele: “I had a few offers I had to weigh up, but I know what I was getting with Morton.
“It is a fresh start, there’s going to be some challenges but I’m looking forward to them.
“I had to weigh up a few other options that I had, but in the end I think I’ve made the right choice and I’m looking forward to a good season with Morton.
“I felt Morton were the right fit for me.
“The fans have been great with me during my time here and with the new manager coming in it’s a fresh start and I think that’s dead exciting.”
