BOB McHugh is relishing competition among strikers as Morton begin preparations for the upcoming season.
The striker is the only forward who was at the club last season, as the Cappielow outfit have overhauled their front line.
New manager David Hopkin has brought in Robbie Muirhead, and when speaking to the Tele previously said he saw him as his number nine going forward.
Cameron Salkeld played up front for Gateshead last season regularly, and Ton also have Aidan Nesbitt and Kalvin Orsi who are predominantly wingers, but can also play up front.
The manager is expected to turn his attentions to defensive recruits.
McHugh knew there would be some new faces coming in to compete with for the starting spots, and is happy to fight for his place.
He told the Tele: “I’m happy with the competition. He was always going to do that after having to replace three or four strikers from last season. He was always going to sign them, and I’m glad he’s brought in a few quality strikers.
“Whoever is doing their best will be playing and whoever is working hard for the team will start, and whoever is playing will have the support of the others.”
