CHRIS Millar is glad to be back playing for free-scoring Morton — and is now setting his sights on improving them defensively.

The midfielder has worked his way back into the side and impressed with performances against Alloa and Hibernian in recent weeks.

While Millar is pleased with Ton’s attacking threat, he knows there’s room for improvement to their defensive game.

He said: “I’m enjoying playing, it’s been good.

“The manager said to me that I would get game time, so I’m obviously delighted to have started the last two games.

“I think the team has done really well, we have created a lot of chances and scored a lot of goals, but I think we could defend a bit better as a team.

“On Saturday there, we took a Premier League team to extra-time, that’s testament to how well the team is playing.

“We’ve got good competition for places and I think that bodes well for the three tough games we’ve got coming up.

“The high press comes from the gaffer, he sets us up with how he wants to play with a high tempo and energy level and to try and play on the front foot, it’s something we work hard on.

“We’ve got games coming thick and fast now, so the full squad is going to be called upon.

“We need to make sure we go and get a positive result on Friday night, then we can start to concentrate on the Inverness games the following two weeks.”
