JOHN Sutton says he isn’t setting a target after netting his first league goal against Partick Thistle.

Sutton impressed again after coming off the bench for Morton and played a part in all three goals to inspire their comeback against the Jags.

The Englishman sneaked in at the back post to bundle home his first goal in the Championship - his third in all competitions so far - and he says he’s not fazed about potential numbers that people expect of him.

He told the Tele: “It’s great to have come on and made another positive impact, we obviously weren’t at our best in the first half but it was good to get the goals to get us the three points.

“I’m not really thinking about how many goals I’ll score, I just want to be a part of a successful team.

“We’re doing okay at the moment. I think there are areas that we can improve on but we’ve had a decent start to the season.

“We’ve got six points, I just hope we can keep improving and getting stronger.”

Sutton hopes Friday's thriller will encourage neutrals to come to Cappielow.

He said: “What I would say is if you’re a neutral fan then come and watch us because in all of our games there have been plenty of goals and it’s been a bit topsy-turvy.

“There’s a lot of effort and a lot of heart from the boys in the dressing room, so hopefully the fans are enjoying that."
