AIDAN Nesbitt says he’s enjoying a new lease of life since returning to Morton. 

The winger had been on form before being sidelined with a broken hand. 

Nesbitt says the belief shown in him by gaffer David Hopkin has helped him and that regular pep talks from the Ton boss have brought out his best.

He told the Tele: “I’m really enjoying being back, I’m loving it actually.

“I’m enjoying playing football again, the last couple of weeks have been hard for the group but I’m really enjoying being back.

“The gaffer has put a lot of belief in me and that’s allowed me to go and play with a lot of freedom to play and express myself.

“He speaks to me regularly and, in particular, before the Alloa game where funnily enough I feel I played really well. My overall performance was really good.

“I might not have scored but I set one up for Bob McHugh and had a few good chances in that game.

“The manager gives you a lot of confidence, especially with myself and Nicky Cadden, even the rest of the attackers, he gives us the confidence to go and attack and believe in our ability.

“He makes us believe that we’ll make chances, that’s the main thing.

“We’re the ones who are providing the chances and if we get to chip in with a few goals for ourselves then that’s a bonus as well.”

Meanwhile, former Motherwell starlet Jordan Armstrong played as a trialist for Morton Reserves in their 7-0 demolition of Dundee United’s second string at Cappielow yesterday.
