MORTON loanee Stephen Welsh says only a win over Dunfermline will do to get over the thrashing against Dundee United.

The highly-rated defender insists that maintaining their unbeaten home run against the Pars is the only way they can make up for Saturday’s heavy defeat, inset.

Welsh believes that the quality in attack from the likes of Bob McHugh, Luca Colville and Nicky Cadden will be vital for them going forward as they look to move back into the play-off positions.

He told the Tele: “We need to win our home games. It’s a good chance to put things right after the Dundee United game — our home record speaks for itself.

“We need to keep a clean sheet and we’ve got forwards who can score goals, so hopefully we can get back on track.

“Teams hate coming here, especially with the way that we play.

“They hate it because we work hard and make it awkward for them. We showed that against Dundee, it worked really well.

“It’s really important that we get a win here against Dunfermline and build on the positive performances that we’ve had at Cappielow.”
