BOB McHugh has targeted three points against Ayr United tonight as he looks to build on Saturday’s win over Inverness Caley Thistle.
Fresh off the back of a stunning brace, McHugh has called for his team to gain some momentum and put together a run of victories that would see them move back up the table.
The experienced striker knows that a win tonight against the Honest Men will put them back in the Ton’s sights.
He told the Tele: “It’s the start of a big week for us.
“We’re not looking any further than tonight but six points out of nine would be fantastic for us.
“We know how hard it’s going to be as they’re second in the league, but a win will put us right back in the mix and not far behind them.
“We knew it was going to be a big week. The gaffer emphasised that.
“To get a positive result could maybe start us off on a wee run.
“We could use that momentum to our advantage on Friday, which would be excellent.
“We can’t let ourselves get carried away after Saturday, we need to stay realistic and fully focus on tonight.”
