MORTON’S injury fears over Bob McHugh have been eased after he suffered a pulled hamstring against Dundee United.
The striker was relieved after he initially feared that he would be out long-term rather than just a few weeks.
The 28-year-old is back in light training but admitted that Saturday’s game against Alloa might come too soon for him.
He told the Tele: “I don’t think that it was as serious as first feared, but obviously it’s just really frustrating for me.
“I felt for the gaffer too, come on as a sub and only last ten minutes. It was a wasted substitution but these things happen in football.
“Hopefully I’ll not miss too many games.
“From a selfish point of view I’m glad the game was called off because it gives me a bit more time to get myself back to full fitness.
“It gives me a chance to catch the game and play in it now.
“I’ve done a bit of light running in training already, so it’s just a case of getting my hamstring back up to strength.
“I want to be involved as much as I can over the festive period, so hopefully it’s not too long before I’m back.”
