ROBBIE Muirhead insists that he is able to fill the void left by Bob McHugh while the striker makes his way back from a hamstring injury sustained against Dundee United last week.
The former Hearts starlet hopes that he can kick on after his own setback of a two-match suspension handed to him by the compliance officer after the 2-1 defeat to Dundee.
He believes that the Ton have more than enough options up front to supply the goals ahead of Saturday’s crucial game against Alloa.
He told the Tele: “We know Bob will be a big miss because of his contributions up front this season, but we have other players who are more than capable of stepping in in his absence.
“Hopefully I’ll be lucky enough to get selected and do well and stake my claim to be in the side.
“The ban was really unfortunate. I never knew that they could change the decision after a card had already been given.
“It’s just something that I have to get on with but I’m just hoping that I can come back in and play well and really kick on now and hopefully we can get a result against Alloa on Saturday.”
