NICKY Cadden has played down talk that he is turning into a talisman after his wonder goal put Morton on their way to getting their first away win of the season.

The winger’s return to the side has seen a gradual upturn in form from the Ton and after his heroics on Saturday, Cadden is focused on taking them up the table.

He told the Tele: “To be fair, the talisman tag just comes with the position that I play in.

“Obviously myself and Nizzy [Aidan Nesbitt] both create chances because that’s the nature of our game and the position that we play in, and then the full-backs contribute as well, they create chances.

“It’s not as if we’ve got one talisman, we’ve got lots of good players who we know can create those chances.

“That game on Saturday was my first 90 minutes in a good few months.

“Obviously I’ve started against Brora and Dunfermline and then been brought off, probably to protect me a bit.

“I know where the gaffer is coming from with that, especially coming back from a hamstring injury and then being put in with a high workload.

“Hopefully I can continue to help the team as much as possible, scoring goals or creating assists.”
