SKIPPER Jim McAlister says it’s crucial goals come from all over the park for Morton.

The Ton stalwart finished from close range to take his tally to three for the season against former employers Dundee.

He hopes his goalscoring exploits can continue — and wants others to chip in ahead of Saturday’s match against Queen of the South.

He told the Tele: “I don’t think I’ll score an easier one than that from Saturday.

“If it had been any further out then I’d have probably missed it in fairness!

“It’s always nice to chip in, especially if it helps the team get a point or even three over the coming weeks.

“I’ve got three more than last year now, that’s for sure.

“You know what football’s like, if the midfielders and defenders can chip in and help out the guys playing either out wide or up front then that’s good for the team and for the squad.

“Next season hasn’t really been a priority yet.

“I haven’t really thought about it.

“Once you get north of 30, you start to just appreciate the games that you play in really.”
