DAVID Hopkin says he is happy to see his players berating one another — and he hopes they show their fiery side again at Somerset Park tonight.

The Ton boss admitted he was proud to see his players arguing with each other after conceding two late goals in Saturday’s 4-4 draw against Alloa, as he believes it shows the passion and desire within the dressing room.

While Hopkin was disappointed to drop two points against the Wasps, he hopes Ton can show their strength of character against Ayr United tonight.

He told the Tele: “We managed to find positives from the result because at the end of the day, Alloa are unbeaten as well.

“We’ve both started the year off well and although we’re disappointed with the result the good thing is, that for the first time since we’ve come in, the boys are having a go at each other.

“These things show that they care and they want the best for the club.

“We showed fantastic character and the goals we scored were of the highest quality.

“We need to keep working to do that against Ayr tonight.

“All of the goals were off of the training ground and they were fantastic goals.

“We showed a bit of naivety to not hold onto the game.”
