SEASON 2020/21 finally kicks off tonight for Morton after seven months out in the wilderness when Queen of the South come calling.

This game begins what can possibly be the start of the most important year in the recent history of our club as we transition over to a new ownership from Golden Casket to Morton Club Together (MCT).

All fans in my opinion should be eternally grateful to the late Douglas Rae for saving our club and it has been mentioned previously that his legacy was to have taken Morton to the top flight.

Unfortunately, with the amount of budget cuts lately, the current owner's legacy may end up with MCT taking ownership of a League One team!

Without MCT and most recently Brian Clements, pictured, it would seem that the current budget would hardly pay for a team of supporters to take the pitch never mind a full-time team capable of staying in the Championship.

Here’s hoping that David Hopkin and his team can defy the odds and have us challenging for the play-offs. Tonight's game will give us an idea of how we may fare this coming season.

Unfortunately we cannot attend games so it will be Ton TV for many of us and this will be a first for myself as I have never seen Morton live on TV (streaming).

Also it will be the first time in over 30 years that I have been in the house when Morton are playing a competitive match.

Will anyone in life ever get used to the 'new normal?'
