GREENOCK Wanderers have donated £250 to Inverclyde Children in Poverty.

The money was raised way back in June when the club set the challenge of running, walking or cycling 1873km in 30 days, a target that was smashed!

The Wanderers donated a total of £500 to charities as a result, one being the local charity Inverclyde Children in Poverty.

Rugby development officer AJ Guthrie said "It's great to be able to support a local charity and see the money put to good use.

"One thing we're really trying to do this year is give back to the community that surrounds us.

"We particularly want to give opportunities to those who maybe don't usually get many as we work to be more inclusive as ever.

"This is just one of the few things that we have planned to support local charities and give new opportunities to you g people in the community."
