MORTON were left ruing missed chances as they failed to build on their opening day win over Alloa after Jonathan Afolabi’s fifth-minute strike condemned David Hopkin’s men to defeat against Dundee.

Celtic loanee Afolabi’s volley was all that separated the sides after 90 minutes and the early setback meant Ton were left chasing the game for the majority of the proceedings.

The Ton were left with a mountain to climb after being reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when a moment of madness saw Robbie Muirhead collect two bookings inside a minute for dissent.
