THE new normal for many Morton supporters on Saturday began with subscribing to Dundee’s PPV channel for the decent cost of £12.50 in hope rather than expectation of a successful day.

At 3.05pm we found ourselves a goal down and had myself reaching for my clubs and possibly heading to Gourock Golf Club as I anticipated a horrendous day in front of the TV.

Thankfully and impressively the boys rallied and stuck to the task and quite possibly should have come home with a draw or even a victory.

I actually feared the worst with the loss of that early goal, but apart from that one piece of poor defending the backline looked solid and as the game went on the team as a whole grew in confidence.

With Aidan Nesbitt and Josh McPake coming back into the team next week, I believe we will create chances but I do worry that we don’t have anyone who looks capable of scoring the goals we need.

I also worry we do not have a back up goalkeeper in case of injury to Aidan McAdams and also that we have had two players sent off in successive matches.

Only time will tell if these issues come back to haunt us but overall I think there are currently more positives than negatives with our team at the moment.
