MORTON exited the Betfred Cup after suffering a second penalty shootout defeat in a matter of days as they couldn’t find a way past on-form Partick Thistle ‘keeper Kieran Wright.
Shootout misses from James Wallace and Rabin Omar saw David Hopkin’s side fall to a third penalty defeat of the group following a goalless draw at Firhill.
The Morton boss was frustrated after Ross MacIver had two goals disallowed in the second half as Ton dominated proceedings throughout the 90 minutes.
