MORTON hitman Kalvin Orsi insists his side are more than capable of doing a double over Dunfermline when they come to Cappielow tonight.

The Ton striker said that he and his team-mates have prepared in the best way possible despite two call-offs against in the last week as the weather wreaked havoc on the footballing schedule and the SFA suspended Scottish Cup action.

Orsi believes that the title-challenging Pars will be in for a tough time when they kick off live on BBC Scotland this evening, insisting it will be a different affair from the East End Park victory as he looks to put his ‘ghost goal’ behind him.

He told the Tele: “We’ve prepared in the best way that we can.

“Obviously we got a good result the last time we came up against Dunfermline and it was away from home which made it even better.

“There’s absolutely no pressure on us. They’re doing well in the league, but it will be a totally different game, especially with it being at Cappielow. It’s a tight park and it will be a battle instead of total football from both teams like it was the last time.

“We had a good record at home last season against them too, so we’re confident.

“We’ve got a good team together and we know if we play well then we can compete with anyone, we don’t feel like an underdog going into games anymore. We’ve got a game plan, so hopefully we can carry it out.

“I was gutted the last time obviously with the goal. I’ve said how I felt about it and we’ve moved on but if a chance comes my way, which hopefully it does, then I can try and take it and put the full thing behind me.

“Anton [McElhone] has done the best he can with what he’s got at his disposal just now and we’re looking forward to the game tonight.

“It will be nice to actually play Dunfermline eventually after the two Scottish Cup call-offs earlier on in the week, but I think it suits us better as we can spread the games out.

“It’s been nearly two weeks without a game, so hopefully we’re not going to be too cold going into the game, because the weather has limited us as to what we can do.

“We just need to keep our focus and if we can keep the unbeaten run going then it’ll stand us in good stead for the rest of the season.”

The 23-year-old admits that he and his team-mates feel lucky to still be able to carry out their league fixtures after Monday’s announcement to postpone all footballing activity below the Championship for the next three weeks.

He hopes that Ton can put on a show and give supporters watching the game at home a victory to celebrate as they look to get back into the play-off places.

He said: “After the news coming out on Monday, I think I speak for everyone that we feel very lucky to still be kicking a ball about and being able to train and play.

“I was worried ahead of the meeting but was over the moon when it got decided that the top two leagues would continue.

“It’s a shame for the leagues below but listen, you’ll take it with everything going on but it is a sad time for Scottish football.

“It makes you appreciate what you’ve got because when you’re not playing and you’re sitting in the house, your head is doing overtime.

“It’s the best thing to still be getting out.

“Hopefully the fact that we’ve got the game on the telly tonight, maybe folk from Greenock who don’t subscribe to the ‘TonTv or don’t watch it normally will tune in.

“Hopefully we can give the fans something to cheer about.”
