MORTON boss Anton McElhone has moved to bolster his attacking ranks by adding Justin Johnson on a short-term deal.

The 24-year-old Dutch winger has been training with the club, as reported by the Tele last week, and impressed the Ton chief.

Johnson spent two years at Dundee United, as well as short spells down south with York City and in Cyprus before joining Hamilton Accies in the summer.

The right sided midfielder, whose cousin is ex-Celtic starlet Jeremie Frimpong, made seven appearances, six of which were from the bench, for Brian Rice’s side before mutually agreeing a January exit from North Lanarkshire.

Johnson goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s clash against Hearts.

McElhone said: “Justin has signed a short-term deal with the club and will be a good addition to the squad.

“He’s energetic, he’s direct, quick, very sharp and lively and will add to the quality we have already as a team.

“We have given him an opportunity to show what he can do and he’s got a few months to give it everything he’s got and try earn an extended contract”.
