MORTON were twice pulled back during an entertaining 2-2 draw with Dundee at Cappielow today.

The Greenock men took the lead late on in the first half through a Craig McGuffie wonder strike.

The wideman met a Lewis Strapp knockdown perfectly to thrash an unstoppable left foot shot into the top corner of the net from 20 yards out for his second spectacular strike in seven days.

The visitors always looked dangerous however and they equalised in the 65th minute when Jason Cummings took advantage of hesitant defending to get in beyond Strapp and guide a low left footed drive past Aidan McAdams.

Ton bounced back almost immediately when Luca Colville met a pinpoint McGuffie cross with a textbook downward header to put his side back into the lead.

Dundee saw Danny Mullen crack a close range shot off the post and Cameron Blues almost added a third for the hosts with a shot from just outside the box which whistled past the post as the game ebbed and flowed.

The Dark Blues restored parity with nine minutes remaining.

Morton were caught napping at a quickly-taken free kick, with ex-Cappielow loan man Paul McMullan given time and space to send over an inswinging delivery which was headed home by Mullen.

Both sides had chances to take all three points but were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

Eighth-placed Ton's search for their first win of the year now moves to next Saturday in a vital Cappielow clash against Ayr United.
