ANTON McElhone has been dealt another blow going into tonight's crunch game against Inverness with key man Lewis Strapp set to miss the trip to the Highlands through injury.

The 21-year-old left-back, who won the club’s young player of the year award last season, has been an ever present in the starting 11 over the last year, only missing two games since the start of 2020.

It is believed that he won't even travel to the Highlands to face Neil McCann’s side after going off injured against Ayr United on Saturday.

The Ton academy starlet hurt his foot after coming under a heavy challenge from Luke McCowan midway through the first half of the 2-0 defeat against the Honest Men.

There are also concerns over his availability for Saturday’s game against Dunfermline.

The interim Ton gaffer is already without top scorer Kalvin Orsi, who missed out on Saturday and does not look likely to be back in time for tonight or Saturday, with a suspected muscle strain in his leg.

This could leave McElhone with no choice but to play Robbie Muirhead at left-back unless he chooses to go with a back three against the Caley Jags.

In other team news, Rabin Omar could still miss out along with James Wallace, while Justin Johnson, Kazaiah Sterling and Reece Lyon could all feature tonight.
