IF we learned anything on Saturday watching Morton slip to defeat against Raith Rovers it was surely that our final five league games are now 100 per cent about trying to retain our Championship status rather than dreaming about the promotion play-offs.

Realistically we have been fighting that fight for weeks but I suppose whilst the possibility of the play-offs were there then the optimistic noises coming from within the club had to be listened to.

The one positive to take from Saturday was that the players seem to have regained their effort, spirit and commitment.

But not for the first time this season we once again lacked that wee bit of quality.

Thankfully at this moment in time our destiny is in our own hands and in my opinion we have three winnable games out of the five.

But we do need to find a way to create and score goals or relegation could be a distinct possibility.
