MORTON were denied a priceless win this afternoon by a late equaliser at Dundee.

Ton went into the game in desperate need of a result in their fight against the drop and they produced a well organised and hard-working performance.

They restricted the in-form hosts to barely any clear-cut chances and stunned them when they took the lead on 78 minutes.

Lewis Strapp took aim and fired in a fierce low shot which Adam Legzdins couldn't hold and Aidan Nesbitt fired home the rebound into the net via the post.

It looked like Ton were on course for a shock win which would have taken them out of the bottom two.

But Dundee hit them with a late sickener when Lee Ashcroft pounced on a knock-on from Osman Sow and slammed the ball high into the net.

Ayr and Arbroath both drew their matches, meaning it's 'as you were' in the battle to avoid the relegation play-off spot.
