AIDAN Nesbitt believes that Morton's Championship future is still in their hands despite Dundee's late leveller keeping them in the relegation play-off spot.

Ton are level on points with Arbroath who lie in eighth place, but Gus MacPherson's side occupy the relegation play-off place on goal difference with three games to go.

While the playmaker was disappointed they couldn't hang onto all three points, Nesbitt believes that Saturday’s draw against the play-off chasers can give them a platform to secure survival.

He told the Tele: “Staying in the Championship is still in our hands.

“A point away to Dundee is a good result at any time of the season, we just find ourselves in the position we’re in because we’ve let ourselves down.

“It’s results like Inverness, Arbroath and Dundee at home that have let us down - not this one. We should take positives from it going into the next game.

“It does feel more like a defeat than a draw to be honest due to how they’ve scored so late on.

“It’s happened too many times this season the way we’ve dropped points from winning positions.

“It was important that we didn’t get beat first and foremost and we did that.

“We wanted to get them on the counter and limit them to very little and I feel it worked quite well."
