MORTON live to fight another day as Craig McGuffie’s sensational lastminute strike saw off Montrose in the Championship play-off semi-final.
In a game that had plenty of twists and turns, it turned out to be the man who only scores screamers that sent Ton into the two-legged play-off final with Airdrie.
Gary Oliver and Cameron Salkeld gave Ton the advantage before Russell McLean’s strike sent the nerve-shredding semi-final second leg into extra-time.
McGuffie came off the bench to net the wonder goal and keep the Greenock men’s survival mission on track as they now face the Diamonds on Tuesday at the Penny Cars Stadium.
