MORTON have learned their opponents for the 2021 Premier Sports Cup group stages.

Gus MacPherson’s side were second seeds in the group draw and have been placed into Group G, where they will face relegated Kilmarnock, Danny Lennon’s Clyde, Stevie Farrell’s Stranraer and Stevie Aitken’s East Kilbride.

Ton last travelled to Rugby Park for the first time in five years after they beat the Ayrshire side in the group stages 2-0 in their famous League Cup run to Hampden, where Gary Oliver and Jai Quitongo sealed the victory.

Ton will face off against Lowland League side East Kilbride for the first time, with the Lanarkshire side the last drawn in the group.

Ton will also face off against League One side Clyde for the first time in five years when Tam O’Ware’s goal separated the sides.

Ton could also travel to Stranraer for the first time in over seven years.

Ton will play their first game on the weekend of July 10, with the rest of the group games to be played across July 12/13, 17/18, 20/21 and 24/25.

Ton failed to make it out of their group last season, after drawing three of their four games against St Mirren, Queen of the South and Partick Thistle, only winning against Queens Park.
