AFTER an absence of some 16 months or so we were finally allowed back into the Cowshed on Saturday.

Whilst it was great to be back, it is going to be difficult through the next few months to have to turn up 45 minutes before kick-off if that continues to be the case.

I had hoped the play-off final against Airdrie would have been a one-off with respect to having to go into the ground early, but at this moment in time it seems to be the new normal.

The game itself was okay but it is clear for all to see that we cannot go into the Championship season without adding at least four or five quality players to the squad.

We urgently require these additions prior to Saturday’s visit of Dunfermline, otherwise I fear the worst.

I believe the management team are working on improving the squad and hopefully this comes to fruition sooner rather than later otherwise we will endure a similar season to the previous one.

Having said that, I have been impressed with the youngsters we have blooded in the games I have seen.

Hopefully they will add something to what does look like a very small squad of first-team players.
