SOMEONE wrote last week about a level of optimism for the season ahead after a decent performance against Kilmarnock.

Sure enough Morton contrived to make me look stupid as they turned in an extremely disappointing performance on Saturday against Raith Rovers.

I think it's fair to say that the past few years have given us our share of one step forward and two back with regards to Morton’s performances and results.

Since the manager has come in I think it's something like two wins from 14 league games which in itself tells its own story and unfortunately our lack of goals shows no sign of improving.

Saturday’s performance was similar in many ways to what we have been watching for the past few years, plenty of effort and commitment but lacking in creativity and goals.

I would like to see the team start to play from the back as the long ball stuff we are seeing just doesn’t work and is not pretty to watch.
