REECE Lyon believes Saturday's hard-fought draw at Palmerston has set Morton up to secure a positive result against Partick Thistle tomorrow night.

The 21-year-old says the battling display against Queen of the South stands his side in good stead ahead of the visit of Ian McCall's men to Cappielow.

The midfielder has urged his team-mates to build on the Palmerston point by securing two positive results in their back-to-back home encounters against the Jags and Hamilton Accies.

He told the Tele: “It was a good point, there’s no doubt about it.

“I think you can see that with the past performances that we’ve seen from Queen of the South over the last few years, you’re never in for an easy game against them.

“It wasn’t exactly beautiful conditions to play in or on in terms of the weather or the pitch, so to be able to come to a tough place such as Palmerston and get a point is really pleasing.

“It sets us up nicely. We have a big week coming up where we want to get a couple of big results.

“We’ve had a couple of poorer results recently, so to have three games on the bounce gives us a chance to rectify that, starting with Partick Thistle on Tuesday.

“We’ve got two home games now, so we need to be building on this point.”
