MORTON hero Gary Oliver says the three points meant more to him than netting a double against Dunfermline.

The striker's two goals saw him become Ton's top scorer, with the former Queen of the South hitman find the net four times so far this season.

Oliver says East End Park has been a happy hunting ground in recent seasons and he now hopes to continue his scoring exploits.

But the selfless matchwinner wants to put results before personal glory as he aims to help Ton climb the table.

He told the Tele: “We’ve all breathed a huge sigh of relief after that. The last few weeks have been a bit unlucky.

“Things haven't really gone our way, but we even got a penalty this week, so it's happy days I guess.

“Every time I come up here to play against Dunfermline I just seem to score.

“Hopefully that can continue and I can take this into other games.

“It’s more so luck than belief now. My mates keep on asking me to get a few more goals whenever I play against them – but I'm just delighted to have helped the team get a really important win.

“We created a lot of chances against Hamilton with the four attackers on the park but we hadn't been scoring a lot of them, so to get three is very pleasing.”
