ON Saturday for the opening 30 minutes or so no-one could tell which team was chasing the Championship title and which one was fighting for their lives to stay in the league.

Considering Morton were missing two of our best players through international call-ups, Morton were competing extremely well against a decent Kilmarnock side.

Unfortunately that was as good as it got for the local team as we ended up losing two quick goals thus allowing Killie to run out deserved winners.

To say us supporters were surprised at the team selection would be putting it mildly as personally I was shocked to see Reece Lyon not starting and I would have started Lewis Strapp at left-back with Mark Russell in front of him.

Sadly for the us the set-up we had on the left-hand side of the park contributed hugely to our defeat as defensively we were extremely poor on that side for both the goals we conceded.

Hopefully going forward we might see stability in team selection otherwise our next two games away from home could result in us being bottom of the league and out of both cups.
