GOALKEEPER Jack Hamilton says it's crucial Morton put their Scottish Cup heartache against Motherwell behind as quickly as possible.

Hamilton insists that he and his team-mates can take plenty of positives from the 2-1 defeat as they look to make it three victories on the bounce when they face Raith Rovers on Friday.

Despite being knocked out at the fourth round stage, the Ton shot-stopper feels Saturday's display was another step in the right direction under Dougie Imrie as they look to bounce back against the Fifers.

He told the Tele: “It’s a sickener but we need to brush ourselves down and look forward to the next game.

“We’ve been solid for the last couple of weeks.

"We’ve just been looking to improve each week and you could say that we’ve improved again this weekend, albeit in horrible circumstances, but we’ve just got to try and take as many positives as we can from that.

“Friday night is a big game for us so we just need to go into that with full confidence and to try and keep this league form running.

“We can't do anything about it now. We’ve just got to dust ourselves down and move on."
