THE previous two Morton away games which we were allowed to attend saw 82 make the trip to Arbroath and 31 travel through to Inverness.

On Saturday at Motherwell almost 650 of us attended the game.

I know it’s a much shorter journey to Lanarkshire, but it still shows there is a support out there willing to back the team if the players deliver on the park.

Unfortunately we lost Saturday’s game in the final minute of extra time which somewhat deflated the travelling support but not before we witnessed the team put in an excellent performance against their higher league opponents.

The two goals we lost were certainly avoidable and extremely cheap and from a defensive point of view both Lewis Strapp and Jack Hamilton in particular did not deserve to be on the losing side.

I think we were all extremely proud of our team on Saturday and hopefully the upturn in performances will continue on Friday evening when Raith Rovers come calling but minus any defensive lapses.
