THE past week in the life and times of a Morton supporter has been so typical of exactly what we have experienced throughout our lifetime.

After the euphoria of last week’s win in Kirkcaldy we were looking at chasing fifth place in the Championship.

But now after Saturday's defeat to Hamilton we are suddenly looking over our shoulder at the distinct possibility of being dragged into the relegation play-offs.

All three teams - Dunfermline, Ayr and ourselves - have two games left and on paper we have the more difficult fixtures, so we desperately need at least a point against Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday.

Against Hamilton I think we should have gained that much-needed point but unfortunately lady luck was not on our side, especially in the first half when the scoreline probably should have been something like three all.

As I have said previously Dougie Imrie has done an extremely magnificent job in getting us to where we currently are.

Let's hope he can raise the squad for one more final push otherwise the last game of the season away to potential league winners Arbroath will certainly be squeaky bum time!
