LEWIS McGregor believes he can use Morton's final day defeat to Arbroath as a valuable lesson after making his seventh appearance of the season.
Ton boss Dougie Imrie made eight changes from the previous fixture against Inverness and gave opportunities to some of the young players in the squad to impress.
After the 3-0 defeat at Gayfield, 18-year-old believes he and his team-mates will use the experience to come back stronger at the start of next season.
McGregor told the Tele: "The gaffer wasn’t too harsh.
"You need a bit of harshness and a bit of criticism to get your head back on it.
"He was proud of the boys and the turnaround, and I think it shows in the results before the last three games.
"We just need to build on what we have before these games and just keep going from there.
"The last three games have been a lesson and we will bounce back next season and start off strongly.
"It was a tough game for us. I did alright and it was good to get some minutes under my belt."
