INVERCLYDE youngsters have grabbed the chance to take up rugby at Fort Matilda.

Papa John's Tartan Touch is Scottish Rugby’s fun, simple and social version of non-contact rugby.

Tartan Touch is designed to provide a simplified version of rugby with the aim of attracting players of all abilities, ages and levels of experience who are looking to improve their fitness through simple and social activity.

Players touch the ball down over opponent’s goal line by keeping possession by avoiding being touched.

This year’s programme has seen 64 clubs operate as Tartan Touch hubs throughout the summer, with a record number of successful applicants being chosen, including 20 newly-established hubs.

Youngsters can join in the fun and get fit at Fort Matilda this summer for just £3 a session.

Papa John's Tartan Touch sessions continue tomorrow at Fort Matilda between 6 and 7pm.
