A YOUTH rugby team finished the season in style with a perfect 10 performance.

Birkmyre Rugby Club Under-14s won the Ardrossan 10s tournament after winning all four of their games in the tournament.

The Kilmacolm-based side is made up of S1 and S2 year groups. 

They have had a fantastic 2021-2022 season playing fast attacking rugby, scoring a bucketful of tries and generally having a lot of fun.

The squad is made up of Adam Crossan, Archie Thomson, Aron Hamilton. Cameron Bruce, Charlie Dunnet, Ellis Hart, Ethan Hart, Fintan Rooney, Harry Flintoff, Harry Milligan, Ivan Bourke, James Madden, Jamie Stein, Kieran McNicol, Lee Swordy, Lewis McNab, Logan Muir, Mark Khismatullin, Oliver Madden, Oscar Welsh, Robbie Lithgow and Tom Jeffords.

The coaches are Gordon Stein, Andrew Milligan, Fergus Thomson and Graeme Muir.

The under-14 team ended the season in style by winning the tournament in Ayrshire. 

In their group games, Birkmyre beat hosts Ardrossan 24-5, Strathaven 31-5 and Garnock 27-10.

They then met Strathaven in the final and won that 35-0 to take home the trophy having been undefeated all tournament.

On top of that the Birkmyre captain Aron Hamilton won player of the tournament as voted by opposition team coaches.

Birkmyre Rugby Club has teams from five to 18 year age groups in the junior sections and a men’s 1st XV for anyone over 18.

Training for juniors is on Thursdays and Sundays and senior training takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Birkmyre Park in Kilmacolm.
