DOUGIE Imrie says he will only make further moves in the transfer market if a suitable player becomes available.

The Morton boss continues to work on identifying possible signings to bolster his squad after Kyle Jacobs' loan move to FC Edinburgh last month freed up club funds.

Ton have already added eight new players to their squad from last season and it remains to be seen whether the manager will make any more additions before the transfer window shuts at midnight on September 1.

While Imrie hopes to add at least one more player to his squad, he revealed nothing has materialised ahead of tomorrow's trip to Kirkcaldy to face Raith Rovers.

He told the Tele: "There is still a couple of weeks left.

"I don’t want to just dive in and sign players just for the sake of signing them.

"I want to make sure that the ones coming in, if we can get them, are the right fit for the club, and right for the team as well.

"There have been guys who have gone out, so that kind of frees up space if we can get a player or two in then we will try.

"But at this moment in time nothing has materialised, we are still working away in the background to try get players in if we can, so nothing to add to that."

The Ton will be looking to carry on their good early season form against Ian Murray’s side as they head to Fife off the back of a 1-0 home victory over Cove Rangers.

Imrie said: "The message from me to my players is to carry on where we left off last Saturday.

"It has been pleasing so far to get four points out of six, but tomorrow will be a tough game.

"They have a new manager over the summer. He has new ideas and his team are trying to gel.

"I have watched a lot of clips from their games. They pose a lot of threats, so we need to be wary of that.

"Raith haven’t scored any goals yet, they have lost both games, so they will be looking to try to turn that around as well.

"But we have to focus on ourselves, we will give Raith Rovers the upmost respect that they are due but we want to go there and try and pick up a positive result."

The 39-year-old expects a strong reaction from the Stark's Park men after starting the Championship campaign with back-to-back defeats.

However, he's confident his players have what it takes to extend their unbeaten start to three games.

He added: "They are good team with a good backing at home, they have brought in a lot of young players who will want to progress in their careers and do well this season.

"It will be a tough game for us, but it's one that we are looking forward to.

"They’ll be hurting, they will be wanting to give a reaction, especially at home.

"They’ll be wanting to put a performance on for their fans, but again it is up to us to go there and try to nullify that and get a good result to keep the momentum going and to keep us up the top of the table."
