CAMERON Blues believes Morton didn't deserve to be on the end of a 2-1 defeat to Raith Rovers on Saturday.

Morton were left to rue a number of missed chances as Liam Dick and Aidan Connolly gave the Kirkcaldy side a two-goal lead in the second half.

The midfielder was on hand to head home a Robbie Muirhead free-kick which he flicked on at the front post to give the visitors hope, but he was gutted his first goal of the campaign came to nothing as the Stark's Park side held on to all three points.

He told the Tele: "The boys are gutted to be honest.

"I felt like we could have taken something from the game, especially after the first half when it was quite close, and we had chances with Jack Baird’s header, and Robbie’s opportunity as well.

"The gaffer just told us to keep doing what we were doing.

"We kept it tight and didn’t give them many chances in the game, but then conceded two really poor goals from our point of view."

The 24-year-old admitted his maiden goal of the campaign was bitter-sweet as Morton failed to find a leveller against Ian Murray's men.

Blues added: "It was obviously nice to get a goal.

"It was a great ball in from Robbie and luckily I’ve managed to get my head on it and flick it towards the far post and it's ended up in the back of the net.

"The result is a tough one to take, but that is what you get with the teams in this league.

"It wasn’t like we were going to go the whole season unbeaten, we just need to bounce back."
