DARRAGH O’Connor believes Morton's display made Dundee look second best after Saturday's goalless draw against the league favourites.

The defender felt they handled the threat of Gary Bowyer's men comfortably and created enough chances to deserve more from the stalemate.

The Irishman insists the result shows Morton are moving in the right direction following their 2-1 defeat at Raith Rovers and he hopes they can build on the positive performance when they take on Inverness on Saturday.

O'Connor told the Tele: "I thought we were the better side.

"We created more chances and on another day we could have got two or three goals.

"As part of the back four, I don’t think we were tested that much from a team that all the pundits are saying are going to win the league.

"We defended our box well and it is a point in the right direction.

"We came into the game looking for a positive result off the back of a disappointing away day at Raith, and we said in the dressing room if we can’t win the game don’t lose it and we held.

"We’re going in the right direction, we’re picking up points and hopefully we can go up to Inverness next Saturday and hopefully get a positive result again."
