DOUGIE Imrie has made strengthening Morton's frontline his top priority before the transfer window shuts on September 1.

The Ton boss hopes the recent six-figure stadium naming deal with Dalrada Technology UK will make more funds available to help bolster his side's goal threat.

While he has been pleased with the start his side have made, Imrie says he is still looking to add a couple of players to help convert opportunities into goals before the transfer deadline on September 1.

He told the Telegraph Sport: "I think it is still early days.

"We have started the season pretty well apart from obviously the game at Raith when we were disappointed in how we lost our goals.

"We can hopefully get one or two more players in. Myself and the staff are working tirelessly to try and get a striker in the door.

"It is difficult, we are at the later end of the window where most of the players that we could have got in are signed up with other teams.

"Through the loan market it is pretty similar, teams have already got their loans out the door, but we are actively looking and trying as hard as we can to get one or two in.

"Hopefully we will have one or two in before the window closes, but it is difficult at this present time.

"It was a pretty hard time over the summer with different things.

"The new sponsorship deal could allow the club to give us more funds to try and get a player or two.

"I'm delighted to get in a player of Robbie Crawford’s calibre and if we can add one or two more of that calibre of player then it will give us a real help on the pitch to try and push us forward this season."

Morton head up to the Highlands tomorrow to take on Inverness Caley Thistle looking to build on their promising performance against Dundee last weekend.

Imrie has challenged his players to replicate their victory at the Caledonian Stadium last season when Lewis Strapp netted the winner.

The 39-year-old knows Morton could face a wounded animal after the Highlanders' 4-1 defeat at Partick Thistle last week.

He said: "We have another tough game tomorrow up in Inverness.

"It is always a difficult place to go, but we have to take a real lift from Saturday against Dundee.

"The way we went about our performance, every game is different and Inverness will be hurting from getting beat 4-1 at Partick last Friday, so they’ll be wanting to turn that around as quickly as possible.

"We have to be wary of their threats.

"If need to nullify them and then take our game to them and see if we can pick up goals at the other end we'll have a chance.

"Inverness have a good team, they have good players.

"Billy Dodds and his staff have built a really good, strong squad up there, so we know their strengths and weaknesses, but we have to take confidence from last season when we went up there and won 1-0.

"We know we can go up there and win."
