MORTON have sent midfielder Reece Lyon out on loan to League Two side Annan Athletic on a deal until January.
The 22-year-old has been at the Greenock side for nine years, having come through the Ton youth system.
He has racked up over a century of appearances since making his debut for the first team in 2018.
The midfielder has featured on several occasions for Dougie Imrie’s side this season so far, starting all four of their games in the Premier Sports Cup, as well as the opening two league games of the season.
He missed out on the next two against Raith Rovers and Dundee through injury before making a return to the squad for the trip to the Highlands last weekend.
But now he will be plying his trade in the fourth tier.
He joins Peter Murphy’s side who currently sit ninth in League Two, in time for their home game against Forfar this weekend.
Lyon is the second player to leave the club on loan today, with attacker Michael Garrity farmed out to Dumbarton.
