BRIAN Schwake says Morton players were gutted their unbeaten run at Cappielow came to an end against Ayr United on Saturday.

The Ton have made Cappielow a difficult place to visit for opponents since Dougie Imrie's arrival last season.

The hosts lost only their third game at home in the league since the manager took over last December.

The Morton goalkeeper says the pride they take in their home form made the 2-1 loss harder to take.

The 20-year-old says they must learn from the defeat as they look to bounce back with victory against Queen's Park next weekend.

He told the Tele: "It was a frustrating one for everyone on the park.

"Unfortunately we came out of the wrong side of it, but that is football.

"We have had a good start and our form at home has been good, we wanted to keep that going but obviously it didn’t happen.

"We want to try and defend the best we can and take our chances when we get them, but on Saturday that didn't happen."

The Livingston loanee says they will try learn from the two goals they conceded after doing work to try cut out Ayr's threats, in particular Dipo Akinyemi who came up with a goal and assist for Lee Bullen’s side.

He said: "We spoke about how to manage Akinyemi before the game and looked at video footage.

"Now we need to look at that and try to correct it however we can."
