ROBBIE Crawford admits Morton got what they deserved on Saturday after falling to their third league defeat of the season.

The midfielder says they never turned up against Arbroath and the opposition fully deserved to leave Cappielow with all three points.

With a rare midweek fixture to look forward to on Thursday night, Crawford is determined to bounce back against Ayr United in the SPFL Trust Trophy third round.

He told the Tele: "The lads are gutted with how the game went.

"We didn’t turn up and we're really disappointed with how we played.

"We probably didn’t deserve anything from the game, in my views anyway.

"There were half chances we created, but from start to finish Arbroath were the better team.

"They scrapped better, they fought better, they wanted it more.

"They won more second balls, just the horrible side of the game they did better and they came out on top.

"I thought we deserved to win the Ayr game, if I was being honest. But on Saturday no, I have no complaints with the result.

"I thought we got what we deserved."

Crawford added: "It was frustrating the game got called off as we were in a good place.

"We have a game on Thursday night now, so we will look to bounce back quickly and get a win there.

"We will look to progress in the cup and try get out this wee rut we are in."
