LIAM Grimshaw has told his Morton team-mates it is time to stand up and be counted after Saturday's mauling in Maryhill.

The full-back filled in at right wing back as manager Dougie Imrie was forced to change his shape to a back three due to injuries and suspensions.

The former Motherwell man is yet to experience a league victory since making the switch to Cappielow last month, and he believes it is up to them to now get themselves out of a rut.

He told the Tele: "You are going to have bad spells over a season.

"Unless you are one of the top teams you are always going to go through a bit of a rough patch.

"It is just about how we get out of it. Everyone just needs to back each other and show some character and I am sure we will be fine.

"It was a tough one to take.

"It is never good to lose 5-1, it reflects poorly on us a team and individuals, every one of us has got to take responsibility for it.

"They are all very similar goals. We struggled to defend set pieces and the first and second phase, which is disappointing because that is basics really.

"But we have another game tomorrow [against Queen's Park] and we need to bounce back."
