MORTON youngster Alexander King says he won't let his penalty missed dent his confidence after missing in the spot-kick defeat to Raith Rovers.
The Ton academy graduate was on target in the quarter-final clash with a spectacular 25-yard free-kick to put the visitors ahead at Stark's Park.
But he was gutted at being denied by Rovers shot-stopper Andrew McNeil in the penalty shoot-out.
King says the defeat was tough to take and believes the tie could have had a different outcome had decisions gone Ton's way.
He told the Tele: "It was tough to lose on penalties after we played well over the 90 minutes.
"The boys worked hard the whole game, and a few decisions could have gone our way and changed the game, but we move on and it's back to the league next week.
"With the free-kick I thought I would go the 'keeper’s side, the ball was blocked a bit by the wall, so I just tried to strike it well and it paid off.
"But I am not happy with the penalty - I didn’t hit it right.
"I am happy to get more game time. I want to be playing, I am sure the other boys do as well, so it is our job to try and get the shirt back.
"I have played a few different positions, just wherever I am put I will work my hardest and try my best for the team."
