MORTON boss Dougie Imrie has utilised the extended loan transfer window after securing the loan signing of Kilmarnock full back Calum Waters until the end of the season.

The Killie academy graduate has put pen to paper on a short-term loan that will see him play out the final six months of his Rugby Park deal with Ton.

He has made 59 appearances in five years in Ayrshire after coming through the club’s academy system - playing a key role in his side’s push for promotion out of the Championship last season.

The transfer window slammed shut at the beginning of the week, however the domestic loan window is open until the end of the month and Cappielow bosses were quick to make their move to bring the 26-year-old in.

Ton had been left short in the left back area after Lewis Strapp sustained a knee injury that looks to keep him out of action for the foreseeable future.

Waters goes straight into the squad for today’s game against Inverness Caley Thistle and he could make his Ton debut.
