MORTON boss Dougie Imrie has urged his side to take their chances as they head into tonight’s Championship clash against Hamilton Accies.

Ton go into the game six points behind Ayr United who occupy fourth spot and a win would take them within touching distance of their rivals with four games to play.

Imrie is desperate to see his side end their wasteful finishing and hopes that their luck can change in front of goal after only netting three times out of their last 30 attempts.

He told the Tele: “It was good to get a point [against Ayr on Saturday] to try and get us back on the bike after last week’s result.

“I believe that over the last two games, with the chances we’ve created we could’ve scored three in both games, but we’ve only ended up with two points from nine available.

“We’ve been excellent but things aren’t going for us. It’s my job to pick us up for the game tonight against Hamilton, which is massive.

“They’re fighting for their lives looking to get away from the bottom of the league, away from Cove and we’re pushing to get close to Ayr.

“But we’ve got to make sure tonight that when we get our chances we put them in the net.

Imrie will again be without Cameron Blues due to concussion protocols.

Striker George Oakley is suspended after his sending off against Ayr on Saturday meaning either Jai Quitongo or Lewis McGrattan could come into the side.
